The Concise Scots Dictionary was first published in 1985 and is currently being updated, improving the coverage of material from Orkney and Shetland and adding all the new words and changes of meaning that have come to light over the last twenty years.
This kind of dictionary-making is not carried out for commercial purposes. The work involved is highly skilled, time-consuming and meticulous.
